Do you have a passion for aviation and love exceeding customer expectations? We have an exciting opportunity for a Development Manager to join our Inflight Entertainment and Connectivity Team (IFEC).

This fantastic role leads the development of new products, concepts and services. Providing thorough analytics to inform future strategy and subsequent media decisions, you will develop interactive updates to media platforms and enablers.
Managing digital media elements with internal departments, hardware suppliers and software providers is key to ensuring the smooth roll-out of digital systems in collaboration with the wider team. You'll be responsible for scoping, driving and delivering onboard changes and innovation, to bring improved services and efficiencies for both the business and our customers.

Day to day

Collaborating with internal colleagues and external providers, your accountabilities will fall into the following areas:
Development: Ensuring that we retain our cutting-edge reputation, you'll develop digital products for our interactive systems. Developing and producing ideas for future phases of In-service systems both technically and creatively. Bringing them into service with the objective of moving our offering forward, whilst ensuring robust processes. Specifically, you'll define and develop the “look and feel” of the Graphical User Interface for all Inflight Entertainment interactive screens.
Innovation: Exploiting and developing new technology available through ground-to-air WiFi connectivity to deliver new and inventive customer experiences to help iterate and build VAA’s IFE and connectivity roadmap.
Implementation: Working with the Implementation Manager to ensure activities are prioritised and deadlines met and design & flow specifications capture detailed requirements of all functionality required along with look & feel. Acting as digital subject matter expert, liaising with various departments to balance their needs with your own priorities. Your focus will be on maintaining standards and driving technological advancements and projects.
Management: Leading all IFEC development projects including all interactive elements of the current and future onboard entertainment systems. Collaborating on design, functionality, architecture and content and overseeing third-party suppliers, software providers and agencies.
Research: Staying abreast of trends and products within the media and technology industries, analysing markets and finding new partners for the development of IFEC software and applications. Continuously research and analyse developments of new software, products and applications that reside on IFEC systems. Providing inputs to strategy, by monitoring competitor communications and competitor product and service, industry web forums, industry media and sales force feedback for developments.

About you

To apply for this role you will need a good understanding of entertainment software and hardware systems and connectivity platforms along with experience in interactive project management or in the interactive media field. 
With excellent knowledge and awareness of the consumer technology industry and good commercial acumen, you'll base decisions on business factors / financial targets with a highly analytical approach. Future-focused and results driven you'll think big and cross-functionally whilst plotting an implementation plan. You will also have experience with financial and budgetary management.
